Step into a piece of Greenville history, Judson Cottage, home of Dr. Charles Judson, a Furman University professor and interim president of Furman University. The house was built prior to 1860 when it appeared in the 1860 census. After the house was relocated in approximately 1908, about two blocks down the road, the main house and the kitchen house were connected and became the home of another Furman professor. The house is located in the prestigious Alta Vista neighborhood with beautiful homes and massive trees, approximately 1 mile from downtown Greenville, close to great places to eat and shop, churches, and cultural events. The YMCA is a short walk down the road and easy access to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Inside you will find beautiful hardwood floors throughout the downstairs and upstairs of the main house, with the exception of the bathrooms and the brick floor in the keeping room. One through the front door, you will find a massive room on each side of the entrance hall, currently being used for a formal living room and dining room. Also you will find a half bath, a study, a cozy den, and a kitchen with a keeping room, complete with a fireplace, a master bedroom and master bathroom. Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms (one is huge) a full bathroom, and a room referred to as the chapel. From the chapel, you can step onto a balcony that overlooks Cleveland Street. Upstairs over the kitchen and master bedroom are two additional rooms and a full bathroom. These rooms would be great for additional bedrooms, craft room, offfice or storage. Stepping outside from the kitchen, you will find a covered porch and the detached garage, which has an area for a workshop or additional storage. An additional porch is located on the side of the house. The entire backyard is fenced with an electric gate on the driveway leading to the garage and a walkthrough gate on the other side of the house. Upgrades to house Insulation under house and attic.
